A few more details about each of our breakout sessions which you will be able to choose one in blocks 1-3:

  • Women are typically not natural born negotiators and when put in a situation where you need to negotiate, either for sale, a higher salary, more vacation, we sometimes don’t know where to start. Our panel will lead us in a discussion on tips and tricks for helping to navigate the art of negotiation.
  • Michigan Tech is going to ignite our Curiosity on SWE outreach and lead us through an activity in circuit creation that they have developed to empower girls.
  • Another interesting panel we have, is a discussion on career pivots with several women sharing their career history and making the jump to something completely different.
  • Julie  Bates will share how networking goes far beyond finding your next job opportunity and how networking can help you grow your career and expand your knowledge through the exchange of ideas and perspectives.
  • Michal Riege will explain how to use EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) to run a manufacturing company.  Michal’s company currently uses this system to set the strategic direction for the organization and helps to get traction on projects.
  • Christine Nicometo of TechForum Consulting and Dr. Julie Unite from Ascend Talent Strategies will describe the essential components of executive presence and how we self-sabotage our executive presence. They will demonstrate tools and techniques for building stronger executive presence at any stage in a collegiate or business setting.  Attendees should walk away with self-awareness and specific tools for building, maintaining, and enhancing their presence.
  • We will also have an optional speed networking/mentoring session to round out the day led by Andrea Falasco and over lunch we will present awards and introduce our scholarship recipients.
