Spring Forward 2021
SWE-WI is currently planning our yearly conference Spring Forward. This year's conference will fall on April 10th, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic there will be different options for virtual and in person events. For registration details click here.
Engineers Week February 21-27
Join SWE for some Trivia Fun during Engineers Week 2021!
Starting on Monday (22Feb) and ending on Friday (26Feb), each weekday, we will present you with a trivia question at noon and the first correct answer will win a SWE themed prize! People with all 5 correct daily answers will be entered in a raffle for some cool SWE swag!!
Follow the simple steps below and win some prizes:
2021 SWE-WI Martha Maxwell Memorial Scholarship Application Period is Now Open!
At least 1-$1000 scholarship will be awarded to a currently enrolled student who identifies as female, sophomore through senior year (graduating after December 2021), and is pursuing a degree in engineering or engineering technology. For more information and application click here.

Webmaster Position Open for FY22!
SWE-WI is looking to fill the Webmaster position for FY22! This crucial role for our section keeps the SWE Wisconsin website up to date and running smoothly. Due to the important position in a technologically filled world, the transition between the current and new Webmaster will be important.

As FY21 continues, there are many opportunities to get more involved with SWE Wisconsin by filling an open position in the section! There are several options with varying levels of time commitment. Networking Chair - Oversees the events coordinators and helps with questions and ideas.

Join SWE-WI for a Virtual Book Club in March and April! Join SWE Wisconsin for an opportunity to connect with other SWE members virtually while uncovering and discussing unconscious mistakes women make that sabotage their careers, following Lois Frankel bestseller “Nice Girls Still Don’t Get the Corner Office”. Even if you are not interested in reading the book, please feel free to join us for conversation and sharing your perspectives on this topic.

Join SWE Wisconsin on February 21st from 7:30-8:30 pm for an opportunity to connect with other SWE members virtually while discussing the sessions you will recommend other SWE members to view.

Internal Awards Open for Nominations
The 2021 SWE-WI Internal Awards Nominations are open! Awards include the Most Valuable Person (MVP) Award for someone who has been instrumental in our section's success, the Outstanding New Member Award for a member who has joined SWE-WI within the last two years and has been a valuable asset to the section, the Significant Corporate Support Award for a company that has provided significant support to SWE-WI, and the Collegiate Section Achievement Award for a collegiate section in the area that has achieved a section goal. Awards will be presented at the 2021 Spring Forward event on April 10, 2021. Nominations must be submitted by 11:59pm on Wednesday, March 31 through the following survey.

Greetings SWE Members! A big thank you to the 121 of you who renewed your SWE membership! We appreciate your timely renewal!
Now, the 183 of you who have yet to renew your SWE membership, please do so. SWE works on a fiscal calendar from July 1st through June 30th, so your SWE dues are due July 1st. If you are not sure if you are paid for fiscal year 2021 (FY21 = July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021), feel free to contact your membership chair, Susan Schlett or tel. 262 337-3934. As a reminder, a portion of your dues comes right back to your local SWE section to help fund items such as professional development, outreach and scholarship efforts, to name a few. In addition, if you are unemployed, be sure to contact SWE Headquarters at 312 596-5223 (select Membership) to get the unemployed membership rate. Welcome aboard to the three new, and two reinstated members since last report!

SWENext is a way to become part of the Society of Women Engineers as a student through the age of 18. Become part of SWE and #BeThatEngineer! Joining is free. Families and educators play a key role in the success of SWENexters. The SWENext program offers resources and information for adult advocates, as well. Do you know a girl interested in engineering?

Event Planning
Would you like to plan 1 event this year for SWE? We are looking for anyone who would like to plan 1 event in your area to get a list of those we could ask for an event during the year. This could be any event; a happy hour meet, trivia night, pottery or canvas painting, yoga session, group run, concert, attending a local event, webinar watching, escape room, etc. If you are interested, please contact Samantha Billetdeaux know!
End of Year SWE-WI Scholarship Fund drive
With Christmas just behind us, please consider paying it forward to our future women engineers. There will be another scholarship period in early 2021 and we are looking to the SWE-WI community to help fund another $1000 scholarship. Any gift is welcome.
